My entrepreneurial days started at a very young age, as I was about five years old when I decided to setup a toll booth in my house, at the intersection of my hall and stairway, and I began charging my family five cents to pass.  I guess I was taking a page out of Lucy’s (from the Peanuts) playbook.  God bless my family as they actually played along… most of the time.  With the fires of entrepreneurism stoked at a young age, I was at it again around ten years old.  I got together with a couple of other kids in my neighborhood and we created a business called The Reptile Busters.  Capitalizing on both the fame of the recent release of the movie Ghostbusters, and the fact that we lived in a very rural neighborhood, we sent flyers around to all of our neighbors advertising that for a quarter we would remove a frog (generally from pools),  for fifty cents we would remove a turtle, and for a dollar we would remove of a snake.  We also held educational talks for all of our neighbors on the animals we had caught.  To top it of, we even created our very own theme song, set of course to the music of the original Ghostbusters score.

That’s how it started for me;  I went from simply collecting tolls and graduated to educating and performing a service for my community.  Flash forward almost 35 years later, and I am still performing a service while doing my best to educate my community. It has been an amazing journey to be able to take my passion for helping and educating people and translate that into a job I get to do every single day.
